All the Fracking Companies have to do is fill out a form from the PA DEP, the "Don't Expect Protection" Department saying that the used fracking fluid,or "flowback" has "beneficial use," and voila, they can get rid it anyway they can.
The only methane gas we should use or consume is the gas that comes from a sewage treatment, landfill, agricultural or animal feedlot manure pile or biomass conversion digester. Otherwise natural gas should be left in the ground. It is better to burn and use methane that let it escape into the air, as methane is more of a greenhouse gas than carbon dioxide, and can't be converted by plants into celulose.

About 15 years ago the Delaware River Basin Commission was about to allow fracking in the Delaware River Basin. A coalition of environmental groups was ready to stop it by engaging in nonviolent civil disobedience to stop that decision. They declared a moratorium. There are still lawsuits pending to try to overturn their decision to continue their moratorium on fracking in the Delaware River Basin but allowing the disposal of fracking waste in the area. They made a decision in 2021 to make that moratorium permanent. How much longer will that situation hold with Trump in power?

I agree. Leave all the oil and natural gas in the ground. Fracking is too dangerous, too expensive and totally unnecessary for out energy needs. The chemicals used are toxic, carcinogenic, and mutagenic. The well "flow back" or spent fracking fluids, can not be filtered, treated, distilled or made safe. The water used can never be recycled or made safe. The water is permanently destroyed and deadly, all for the quick fast buck. Fracking fluid is being dumped into landfills, wastewater treatment plants, sold or given to local municipalities for "dust control," or for prepping roadways for winter storms. All the drillers or waste water haulers have to do is file a form with the PA Department of Environmental Protection that says that the "waste water has beneficial uses." Some waste water haulers, just open the valves on their tanker on the road and their problem is solved, very cost effectively.

Don't these injection wells cause earthquakes? If they are injecting waste fluids under pressure, can't the flow back into the water table and the aquifers, polluting the ground water? How do we really know that these injection wells are drilled deep enough? Aren't they using abandoned oil and gas wells for injecting the fracking wastes? This seems like a cheap way of disposal for "dust control on roads and for coating roads in the winter for snow, "Freezing Rain," sleet, and "Wintry-Mix. All they need to do is fill out a form from our PA DEP, the "Don't Expect Protection Department," for a fee, and voila, end of the waste disposal problem. Or they just dump it at land fills or at least the filters, setting off radiation detectors or just drive down the road in rural areas and open up the valves. Very cost effective to these profit addicted waste haulers, to the determent to our the environment, our farms and farmers who live and work there. Fracking is too expensive, too dangerous and totally unnecessary for our energy needs. It needs to be banned now, everywhere. Go to https://thesolutionsproject.org/ for plans for all 50 states of the US and 146 countries, on how to meet our energy needs with just solar, wind, hydroelectric and geothermal energy. Contrary to the lies of the profit addicted fossil fuel energy industry, we will not "starve and freeze in the dark," nor "wreck our economy in the process."

Fracking companies have been trying to illegally disposing of the "flowback" and "spent fracking Fluid." They just obtain a permit from the DEP and declare it as having "Beneficial Use," regardless of the toxicity cancer causing and gene mutation ability of the chemicals within the waste.
When you mix Volatile Organic Compounds or VOC's like xylene, toluene, benzene and ethyl ether with water, which are some of the components that we know of in fracking fluid, they can never be filtered out, chemically extracted or distilled to make the water safe and not toxic. It becomes what organic chemists call an ansiscopic mixture. It is toxic, carcinogenic, and mutagenic. It destroys forever the water for any use. So, this law is wrong. Texas is going to cause the illness and death of its own citizens all for the quick, fast buck of the dying, climate change denying fossil fuel industry.
