A coalition of environmental groups was ready to stop it by engaging in nonviolent civil disobedience to stop that decision. They declared a moratorium. There are still lawsuits pending to try to overturn their decision to continue their moratorium on fracking in the Delaware River Basin but allowing the disposal of fracking waste in the area. They made a decision in 2021 to make that moratorium permanent. How much longer will that situation hold with Trump in power?
