(Bucks Concerned About
Unsafe Shale-gas Extraction)

March 25th

Dear subscriber,

People who want to drill the Marcellus shale north of Bucks County in the Delaware River Basin have sued to lift the ban imposed by the Delaware River Basin Commission. In that lawsuit certain  things came to light that signal trouble.  I won't go into details here, but ask that you familiarize yourself with the issue by reading a letter from Tracy Carluccio, one of our tireless defenders of clean water. I have republished it along with the letter she is asking organizations to endorse.

Millions depend on the Delaware River. Protecting it will take an aware and active public participation to counter the special interests that care only for the financial rewards they hope to glean form further shale gas development. It's unsafe, unnecessary, and bad for the planet. If  your organization has not already signed on, have it do so.
